British Trimmings has evolved considerably since its conception in 1930 and today manufactures a vast range of trimmings for upholstery, soft furnishings, window accessories and fashion, supplying to over 35 countries.
Sales, marketing, design and warehousing operations are based in Stockport, Cheshire, UK and are managed by a dedicated and innovative team who are constantly at the forefront of fashion trends. UK operations are supported by an enthusiastic and experienced Customer Service Department, also based in Stockport.
Constantly adapting to market demands and forces, the company began the process of moving their manufacturing base to India in 1999 with the final completion during 2003. Having their production base in India allows the flexibility to supply directly into other manufacturers that also have offshore facilities. The British Trimmings production facility in India is operated in an ethical and responsible manner and has helped to improve employment opportunities and investment in the local community.
Developing strong relationships with new suppliers is important and has assisted British Trimmings in maintaining their competitive advantage. It now purchases various components from worldwide sources to achieve the best price and quality.
British Trimmings cater for all market sectors from the core products for manufacturing, mid market for upholstery, curtains, soft furnishing and contract trimmings, through to high and exclusively designed bespoke products and collections.
A bespoke design service is available to all customers and product is designed to each individual order. The design and development team in the UK, work in partnership with the customer base to produce product specific to their requirements. Working closely with manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers, British Trimmings are able to develop products to suit customers’ individual needs.
